Intentional Teaching
Aligning learning, teaching, and assessment
These teacher created blueprints (lesson plans) are
formatted to the way God created our brain to learn. Psalm 119:73 (KJV) states, “Thy hand has made
me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments." AoL meets the needs of all students learning styles.
Each lesson leads
students to deepen their thinking about prior knowledge and recognize patterns
in our world. Teachers introduce new content that students compare to prior
knowledge. Students demonstrate the understanding of a skill or content in
critical thinking, problem solving, contextual analysis, decision-making, and
integration of Biblical worldview.
AoL effectively
reaches all students’ learning styles and utilizes individual and group work.
Christ was the greatest teacher who walked this earth. He too used this style of teaching. He used reference points people of His
culture understood and tied them to spiritual messages. The BCS staff designs units to reference students’
current culture to bring relevance to the subject materials so intellectual,
physical, emotional, and spiritual growth.
